Tour Plan

Day 1: Casablanca City Tour
Depends on when you arrive. Our driver will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel. You may have time to explore some places in Casablanca with our driver. Stroll along Ain Diab Boulevard, the seaside promenade that follows the Atlantic Ocean (aka the “Miami” of Morocco) to the Hassan II Mosque. Our Casablanca city tour is organized on the second day so you can make the most of your time wandering around Morocco’s economic capital. Watch the sun set behind the architectural marvel. Dine at some of the restaurants, bars and cafés modeled after the bar from the classic film Casablanca.
Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen
Casablanca, one of the best cities in Morocco, is home to the amazing Hassan II Mosque. It sits on a large rock overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. What makes this mosque special is that it has the tallest minaret in the world. The height is about 210m. In addition, it is also one of the few mosques in the country that non-Muslims can also enter. In the morning we tour the city. You will explore the Hassan II Mosque. You’ll appreciate the exquisite craftsmanship: hand-carved stone and wood, intricate marble floor details and gilded cedar ceilings. Then you will depart to visit Rabat, one of the imperial cities of Morocco. You will visit the magnificent Udayas Fort, Hassan Tower and its unfinished minaret, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and Hassan II, and the Chera Necropolis. Then, leave Rabat and continue north to Chefchaouen, the blue city. Overnight in a traditional riad in Chefchaouen.
Day 3: Chefchaouen City Tour

We always include Chrfchaouen in our 12 day tours from Casablanca. This beautiful city is just a 4 hour drive from Rabat. Along the way, you’ll marvel at the change in scenery, from flat plains and rolling hills to the rocky terrain of the Rif Mountains. You’ll admire Chefchaouen’s narrow, winding streets and blue buildings. Plus, the laid-back vibe and friendly locals add extra sparkle to the city. On the third day, explore the old medina on the north slope and enjoy a meal at Plaza Outa el Hammam. As the day draws to a close, head to the abandoned Spanish Mosque for one last sunset view of Chefchaouen. Overnight in a traditional Riad including dinner and breakfast.

Day 4: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, you drive south, not far from the fascinating Roman ruins of Volubilis. UNESCO World Heritage Site. Varubilis is a huge complex that has been remarkably well preserved for centuries. It was founded in the 3 rd century BC. Built in 1000 BC, it was once one of the most remote regions of the Roman Empire. Varubilis was a thriving city in its day, but was abandoned nearly a thousand years later.

You’ll find mosaic floors, cathedrals, temples and triumphal arches. Then visit Meknes, the second historical imperial city of Morocco. During the tour, you will discover the impressive Mansour Gate and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Then explore the old town and stroll through the traditional markets. Then visit the El Bou Inania Madrasa, built in the 14 th century. The school is an iconic example of Islamic architecture, with beautiful views from its rooftops.

Days 5: Fes – Exploring the Imperial City and Medieval Medina

A 12-day tour from Casablanca always includes 2 days to Fes. In fact, Fes is unique and one day is not enough to explore this amazing city. The streets of Fez are full of magic, charm and charm. The medina itself is a dreamlike magical space. It is impressive in its size and complexity. In Fez, you will get lost in the past. However, before heading to the old medina, take some time to visit the Merenid’s Mausoleum in the north of the city to see the sights of historic Fez. You can then enter Fes el Bali (Old Fes) through the historic Bab Boujeloud gate.

What sets Fes apart from other cities is that it has the most complete traditional medina in the Arab world, still intact since its founding more than 1,000 years ago. Fez is perhaps the most interesting and exciting city in the world.

Our guide will educate you on various aspects of the historical and cultural significance of the metropolis as you navigate through its narrow alleyways. You enter through the Bab Boujeloud’s entrance to proceed towards the primary avenue of Talâa Kebira. There, you will witness glimpses of the bygone era as you explore the diverse array of shops and bustling marketplaces. You will have the opportunity to visit the renowned tanneries, including the Chouara Tannery. Subsequently, you ascend to the rooftop of a nearby leather emporium to gain a better vantage point of the 11 th -century stone containers brimming with dyes, and observe skilled craftsmen employing age old techniques.

Following that, you continue your journey to the 14 th -century Al Attarine Madrasa, an extraordinary embodiment of Moroccan architectural brilliance and craftsmanship, featuring intricate zellij tilework. From there, you proceed to one of the world’s most ancient functioning universities, Al-Qarawiyyin University (859 CE), located adjacent to the Al Qarawiyyin Mosque.

Day 6: Fes: Museums, Ceramics and Tile Collective, and Gardens

On the second day, you will explore different areas of Fez. You begin by visiting the Batha Museum. The Museum houses a collection of traditional Moroccan arts and crafts. It is situated in a palace from the 19 th century, and the handicrafts encompass carved wood, zellij, and local pottery. You will allocate some time in Jnan Sbil, a garden styled after Andalusian aesthetics, before proceeding to the historic Jewish quarter, Mellah. You continue your tour towards Ville “Nouvelle” and witness the striking transformation in architecture.

Following that, you embark on a tour of the Ceramics and Tile Collective to gain insight into the techniques employed by local artisans in crafting their wares, from molding the clay to painting the intricate designs. Additionally, you will observe the tile masters at work, skillfully assembling small tile pieces to create elaborate mosaics.

Ultimately, Fez always holds a special place in our grand Morocco tours. Visitors develop a deep affection for this city and frequently express a desire to extend their stay.

Day 7: Fez to Ifran, Ziz Valley, and the Sahara Desert

On the seventh day of our 12-day excursion from Casablanca, you will embark on a journey to the Merzouga Desert. Merzouga is renowned for its camel trekking and desert glamping. Following breakfast, your travel commences towards Ifran. A brief stop will be made there to capture memorable moments before continuing towards the cedar forest of Azrou, where you can encounter untamed primates. You have the opportunity to hand-feed them and capture photos. Subsequently, you traverse the untamed forests across the Middle Atlas mountains until you reach Midelt, where a lunch break awaits. After an hour, your expedition progresses towards Erg Chebbi via the Tizi n’Talremt pass, granting access to the Ziz Valley, celebrated for its concealed oases and clusters of palm trees. En route, you will encounter numerous fortified dwellings called ksars, constructed to safeguard valuable goods such as gold, salt, and spices. The journey continues to Erfoud, a city renowned for its date festival and fossil excavation. If desired, you may pause there to visit local establishments and meet skilled artisans.

The day culminates at Erg Chebbi, an extensive expanse of sand dunes spanning an area of 13.5 square miles. Upon arrival in Merzouga, your camel trek adventure commences, guiding you through the dunes of Erg Chebbi until you reach your luxurious encampment nestled in the heart of the Sahara Desert. En route, witness the breathtaking desert sunset.

At your deluxe camp, a warm welcome awaits, accompanied by a delectable Berber dinner. Unwind by the campfire, reveling in Berber music and dance. You have the option to slumber within your camp or beneath the starry sky.

Day 8: Desert adventures, Rissani market, and Todra Gorge

After an enchanting evening, you will be awakened early the following day to witness the majestic desert sunrise. Then, embark on your desert expedition by visiting Khamliya, a typical Saharan village inhabited by friendly individuals of African descent who were brought from sub-Saharan regions during the historical era of slavery. Immerse yourself in the vibrant beats of traditional drumming music and dance before taking a brief stroll around the village.

Subsequently, bid farewell to the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi as you journey towards Rissani. If your travels align with Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Sundays, you will have the opportunity to explore this authentic marketplace, which is reputed to be the largest in southern Morocco. Here, you can discover a plethora of traditional mementos to purchase. Afterwards, make your way to Tinghir, a desert town that offers awe-inspiring vistas of neighboring settlements nestled along the extensive river oasis, spanning 30 miles (or 48 km) adorned with palm trees.

Later, you will reach Todra Gorge, where you can revel in the Toudra river and the towering rocks reaching almost 1000 feet into the sky. Take pleasure in a leisurely stroll within and around the gorge, and unwind in the refreshing waters of the shallow river below.

Day 9: Dades Valley, Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and Marrakesh

On day 9, you will explore one of the prime destinations in Morocco, Ait Ben Haddou. Following breakfast, you embark on your journey by driving through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. You make a stop in Kela’a M’gouna to admire the meticulously tended rose gardens. During this time, you will have the opportunity to visit some rose companies to gain insights into the conversion process of rose petals into rose water and oil.

Subsequently, you continue your drive to Ouarzazate, renowned as the movie
capital of North Africa. Here, you will uncover an alternate side of Morocco as you witness the magnificent sites where numerous Hollywood movies have been filmed.

Renowned films such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Black Hawk Down, and others have graced the landscapes of Ouarzazate. Following that, you will be treated to a guided tour of the movie studio, where you will visit the “Musée du Cinema” to delve deeper into the art of filmmaking and the rich history of the region.

Later, you venture to explore Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. The Kasbah comprises numerous ancient Ksours originating from the 11 th century. The kasbah will leave you awestruck, and you’ll appreciate the distinctive architecture of Ait Ben Haddou. You wander through the narrow streets and passages during the late afternoon, after the daytime crowds have dispersed. Additionally, you can ascend to the old Granary, offering an exceptional viewpoint to admire the kasbah and its environs. Enthusiasts of Game of Thrones may opt to trek down to the river to witness the gates that appeared in the acclaimed HBO series.

Finally, you journey towards Marrakech, the remarkable city of Morocco. You traverse the winding roads of Tizi N’tichka to reach Marrakech in the evening. You can unwind in your Riad before the enchantment commences. At night, Jemaa el-Fna Square bursts with life, featuring musicians, performers, snake charmers, games, and food stalls—an all-encompassing array of entertainment! If you prefer to enjoy the spectacle from a distance, select one of the numerous cafés encircling the square and savor a cup of refreshing mint tea along with a delectable meal.

Day 10: Marrakech: Exploring the Red City

If you travel to Morocco, Marrakech will hypnotize you. It is nicknamed the “Red City” for its 1000-year old red sandstone city walls and buildings. Indeed, Marrakech was once an important trading capital for tribes of the Atlas mountains and still today an important tourist attraction in Morocco.

Your tour of Marrakech will be with our professional guide. You start your tour from Jemaa el-Fna Square. The Morocco travel guide will explain to you the routs of the square and the cultural impact of the city. Then, you head to Koutoubia Mosque and Majorelle Gardens. After that, you will visit the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and El Badi Palace. You will have lunch in one local restaurant. Marrakech city tour will teach you a lot of things about Moroccan culture. Marrakech is among the best Morocco cities and attracts millions of tourists each year. What characterizes Marrakech is the cultural

Day 11: Essaouira Excursion

After enjoying a delicious morning meal in Marrakech, we will embark on a journey to Essaouira, a picturesque coastal city in Morocco known as Astrapor in the Game of Thrones. En route, you will witness the fascinating sight of numerous goats effortlessly climbing trees to feast on Argan nuts. Seizing the opportunity, we will visit some Women’s Cooperative of Argan, as the region is renowned for its argan oil. The knowledgeable women will educate you on the various advantages and applications of this oil, ranging from culinary and cosmetic uses to medicinal properties.

Following several captivating stops along the way, we will eventually arrive at Essaouira, a charming white town situated on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Our exploration will begin with a visit to the “Skalla fortress,” the city’s imposing ramparts. Afterward, we will leisurely stroll through the narrow alleys of the Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For lunch, we will savor a delectable meal at a traditional restaurant, indulging in freshly caught seafood.

Essaouira is renowned as the “City of the wind” and has become a magnet for surfers from around the globe. Its architectural style beautifully reflects influences from the Roman, Phoenician, and Portuguese civilizations, all of which once occupied the area. Despite its small size, Essaouira boasts a rich historical background.

In the afternoon, we will make our way back to Marrakech, where you will spend the night in a comfortable Riad. Feel free to immerse yourself once again in the lively atmosphere of Jamaa El Fna Square.

Day 12: Last Tour Day

This will be the conclusion of our 12-day excursion starting from Casablanca. Depending on your flight arrangements, you have the opportunity to explore additional areas of Marrakech or revisit the sites you enjoyed with our knowledgeable guide. Rest assured, Marrakech maintains a high level of safety, as evidenced by the multitude of tourists leisurely wandering through the city.
