Detailed Itinerary 7 days Mount Toubkal Circuit Trek

Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Tacheddirt

After breakfast, depart Marrakech and drive through the scenic Asni Valley to Imlil, the main trekking hub in the High Atlas Mountains. Meet your mountain team and load equipment onto mules.
Begin your trek through the beautiful mountain valleys, ascending gradually to the Tizi n’Tamatert Pass (2,279m). Descend through the charming village of Ouaneskra before continuing to Tacheddirt (3,000m). Overnight in a mountain campsite near the river.

Walking time: Approx. 5–6 hours

Day 2: Tacheddirt – Tizi Likemt – Azib Likemt

Cross the valley and start a steady ascent towards the Tizi Likemt Pass (3,555m). Enjoy your first spectacular views of Mount Toubkal and the surrounding peaks. Descend to the remote village of Azib Likemt, where you will camp for the night.

Walking time: Approx. 5–6 hours

Day 3: Azib Likemt – Tizi n’Ourai – Amsouzert

A long but scenic day crossing varied landscapes. Reach the Tizi n’Ourai Pass (3,120m) with panoramic views of Mount Toubkal, Ifni Valley, and the dramatic Atlas peaks. Continue descending to Amsouzert, one of the most beautiful villages in the region. Overnight in a simple guesthouse or dormitory.

Walking time: Approx. 6–7 hours

Day 4: Amsouzert – Lake Ifni

Explore small traditional villages before reaching the spectacular Lake Ifni, the only natural lake in the Atlas Mountains. Surrounded by rugged rocky peaks, this hidden gem offers a peaceful and unforgettable setting. Afternoon at leisure to relax by the lake. Overnight camping.

Walking time: Approx. 4–5 hours

Day 5: Lake Ifni – Tizi n’Ouanoums – Toubkal Refuge

Today is the most challenging day of the trek. Ascend a steep mountain trail to the dramatic Tizi n’Ouanoums Pass (3,664m), a spectacular rocky saddle between towering peaks. Descend via long zigzag trails to reach the Toubkal Refuge (Neltner or CAF Hut). Dinner and overnight in the refuge or nearby camp.

Walking time: Approx. 6–7 hours

Day 6: Toubkal Refuge – Mount Toubkal Summit – Imlil

Early morning departure to climb Mount Toubkal (4,167m). The ascent takes approximately 2–3 hours. From the summit, enjoy incredible panoramic views across the High Atlas Mountains, Marrakech Plains, and toward the Sahara Desert.
Descend back to the refuge and continue downhill through Sidi Chamharouch and Aremd villages, following the Mizane Valley path to Imlil. Overnight in a lodge.

Walking time: Approx. 8–9 hours

Day 7: Imlil – Aroumd – Marrakech

After breakfast, enjoy a short scenic walk to the Berber village of Aroumd, with stunning views of Mount Aguelzim (3,547m), Aksoual (3,847m), and Adrar Adj. After lunch, return to your lodge for a shower and transfer back to Marrakech.
