Itinerary 7 Days Trekking in Aït Bougmez Valley Morocco

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Arrive in Marrakech and be warmly welcomed at the airport. Transfer to your hotel and relax, preparing for your upcoming trekking adventure. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 2: Marrakech – Azib Ikkis (2,250 m)

Early departure from Marrakech to the Aït Bougmez Valley. The scenic 6-hour drive passes through Azilal and the winding Tizi N’Tirghiste Pass, offering your first glimpse of Morocco’s rural landscapes. Arrive in Agouti (1,800 m) to meet your trekking team and muleteers. Begin hiking through small Berber villages to Azib Ikkis (2,250 m) for your first night in the mountains.

Day 3: Azib Ikkis – Tarkidit Plateau (2,900 m)

Trek from Azib Ikkis toward the Aghouri Pass (3,400 m), enjoying spectacular panoramic views along the ascent. Descend to the serene Tarkidit Plateau, where a refreshing mountain spring and your campsite await.

Hiking: 5 hours | Elevation gain/loss: +1,100 m / -500 m

Day 4: Tarkidit Plateau – Oulimit Valley (2,700 m)

Optional ascent to Mount M’Goun (4,068 m), the second highest peak in Morocco, or explore the expansive highland plateau. Afterward, descend through breathtaking landscapes to the Oulimit Valley, experiencing traditional Berber life along the way. Overnight camping at 2,700 m.

Day 5: Oulimit Valley – Aflafal (2,400 m)

Follow the winding M’Goun River, discovering remote highland villages and enjoying the peaceful mountain scenery. Arrive at Aflafal (2,400 m) for a night under the stars.

Day 6: Aflafal – Tabant (1,850 m)

Ascend the Tizi n’Aït Immi Pass (2,905 m) for final panoramic views of the majestic M’Goun massif. Descend into the Aït Bougmez Valley and reach Tabant (1,850 m) for an overnight stay in a cozy lodge.

Day 7: Tabant – Marrakech

After breakfast, transfer back to Marrakech, passing through scenic villages and valleys along the route. Arrive in Marrakech and spend your final night at a hotel, reflecting on your High Atlas adventure.

Day 8: Departure

Transfer to Marrakech airport for your onward flight.
