Reaching the summit at 4,167 meters, Mount Toubkal is a non-technical trekking peak, suitable for fit and motivated hikers. During the winter season (October to May), crampons and ice axes are used for safety. From the summit, enjoy spectacular views stretching across the High Atlas Mountains, the plains of Marrakech to the north, and the first landscapes of the Sahara Desert to the south.

Detailed Itinerary Mount Toubkal Ascent – 4 Days
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil (1,700 m) – Tizi Mzik Pass (2,684 m) – Azib Tamsoult Refuge (2,250 m)
After breakfast at your hotel in Marrakech, depart towards the High Atlas Mountains via Tahanaout, Oued Ghighaya and Asni. Enjoy panoramic views over the beautiful Ghighaya Valley.
Arrive in the mountain village of Imlil, where you will meet your trekking team, including your certified mountain guide and muleteers. Begin your trek by ascending the Tizi Mzik Pass (2,684 m), offering spectacular views over Imlil Valley and Mount Toubkal.
Continue trekking to Azib Tamsoult Refuge for dinner and overnight stay.
Walking time: 5–6 hours
Day 2: Azib Tamsoult Refuge – Tizi Aguelzim (3,560 m) – Toubkal Refuge (3,207 m)
Today’s trek includes a steady and rewarding ascent through dramatic mountain scenery. Visit the impressive Ighouliden waterfalls, the highest waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains, before crossing the Tizi Aguelzim Pass (3,560 m).
Enjoy a scenic lunch with panoramic mountain views, then continue to Toubkal Refuge (CAF – Luis Neltner) for dinner and overnight stay.
Walking time: 6–7 hours
Day 3: Toubkal Refuge – Mount Toubkal Summit (4,167 m) – Aroumd Village (1,940 m)
An early start for the highlight of the trek: the ascent of Mount Toubkal (4,167 m). From the summit, weather permitting, enjoy breathtaking views over the High Atlas range and towards the Sahara.
Descend back to the refuge for lunch, then continue down to the traditional village of Aroumd. Overnight stay in a comfortable mountain lodge.
Walking time: 8–9 hours
Elevation gain/loss: approx. +900 m / -2,500 m
Day 4: Aroumd – Imlil – Marrakech
After breakfast, a short walk back to Imlil, followed by a comfortable transfer to Marrakech.
