Your journey begins with a flight from your point of origin to Marrakesh. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly received and then transferred to your riad or guesthouse located in the heart of the historic Medina. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll have some free time to explore the vibrant city of Marrakesh. As the day winds down, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel and settle in for a comfortable overnight stay.
Following a hearty breakfast, embark on an adventure to the South with our knowledgeable guide. The route takes you through the mesmerizing Tichka pass, allowing you to cross the southern slope of the majestic High Atlas mountains and venture towards Ouarzazate. After a brief pause for lunch in Ouarzazate, your journey continues to Zagora, and eventually, you’ll arrive at Ouled Driss. Here, you’ll spend the night at a campsite under the vast starlit sky, after a full day’s drive of
approximately 8 hours.
The day begins with a nourishing breakfast before you set out to explore the captivating landscapes. Discover the lush palm grove with its abundant date palms, catch your first glimpse of plateaus and dunes on the horizon, and enjoy a satisfying lunch in the shade of acacia trees. The afternoon takes you deeper into these picturesque scenes as you make your way to the Marabout Sidi Naji, where your camp for the night will be set up. A day of approximately 6 hours of walking culminates in a night spent under the starry skies in a bivouac.
Rise and shine with breakfast as you prepare for a day of exploration. Departing from Sidi Naji, you’ll traverse dunes and desert plateaus, with a lunch break under the welcoming shade of tamarisk trees. Your journey continues in the afternoon, leading you to Erg Zahar, a location renowned for its breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. The day’s walk totals around 6 hours, and another night in a bivouac offers a genuine desert experience.
Witness the magic of sunrise before enjoying breakfast and starting your departure from Erg Zahar. As you gradually leave behind the dunes, your route takes you through plateaus and sand dunes, and a lunch break takes place amidst a serene tamarisk forest. Upon arrival at Was Ounir Dunes, the camp is set up, allowing you to relish the sunset before retiring for the night beneath the desert sky. Another day of approximately 6 hours of walking concludes with a tranquil bivouac experience.
After breakfast, the adventure continues as you explore further, reaching the enchanting palm grove of Rass Enkhal. Lunch is enjoyed beneath the protective canopy of palm trees, and your journey proceeds through the palm grove, leading you to your campsite nestled between the dunes and the graceful palm trees. With another 6 hours of walking, the day ends with a serene bivouac experience.
Following breakfast, bid farewell to the desert landscapes as you embark on a transfer back to Marrakesh. A stop at Tamegroute offers the opportunity to visit the Koranic library. Lunch is enjoyed on the road, and you’ll arrive in Marrakesh, where you’ll be accommodated in your riad or guesthouse for the night. Reflect on your desert journey as you savor a delicious dinner.
Your final morning in Marrakesh starts with a delightful breakfast, after which you’ll be transferred to the airport for your return flight home. Cherish the memories of your Moroccan adventure as you carry them back with you.
